Moulay Yacoub: 20 Years of Giving and Development under the Royal Vision and Effective Implementation of the National Initiative for Human Development (Video)

In the Moulay Yacoub region, more than 1,200 developmental projects have been completed under the third phase of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), with a financial investment exceeding 471 million dirhams. This was announced during an official ceremony held last Tuesday at the Youth Platform in Douiat, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the initiative’s launch.

The Governor of the Region, Samir Al-Khamlishi, emphasized in his speech that the projects were spread across various social and economic development programs. He highlighted their role in reducing regional disparities, combating vulnerability, and fostering economic integration, particularly among youth. Furthermore, these efforts have contributed to strengthening the human capital of future generations.

According to Al-Khamlishi, the funded projects included the construction of 382 kilometers of rural roads, connecting 340 villages and providing them with essential services like water and electricity. The education sector benefited through the improvement of school infrastructures, with 118 school canteens and healthcare facilities being set up, which helped reduce school dropout rates.

In terms of economic integration, the region launched 304 income-generating projects, creating more than 2,200 direct and indirect job opportunities, thanks to accompanying programs and training. Additionally, the school transport network was enhanced with 94 buses, benefiting over 6,700 students annually.

Early childhood education saw the establishment of 170 units benefiting more than 2,300 children, contributing to the establishment of quality early education. In healthcare, the region’s medical services were bolstered with the acquisition of 29 ambulances and 3 mobile health units, serving over 18,000 citizens with specialties in general medicine, dentistry, and maternal and child health.

On the social front, 15 community centers were created and equipped to provide care for vulnerable groups, operated by local associations, and serving approximately 1,744 beneficiaries.

The Governor called on all local and institutional partners to continue their efforts to enhance the gains made, under the wise leadership of King Mohammed VI.

The ceremony concluded with the signing of five partnership agreements related to sectors such as education, health, and regional development, as well as an official visit to a local products exhibition supported by the initiative, and a tour of various activities at the Youth Platform in Douiat.
