Fez – Ain Chqaf village in the Oulad Maala area of Fez witnessed a peaceful protest organized by residents demanding the provision of potable water, following a prolonged period of water shortages that affected their daily lives and local agriculture.
In a special statement, resident Youssef Al-Mjahidi confirmed that the main issue was due to some obstacles preventing regular water supply. He pointed out that water is available in the area through wells, and that the water resources are sufficient to meet the needs of both residents and agriculture.
He added that local authorities responded quickly to the protests held on Sunday, restoring regular water flow and alleviating the residents’ hardships. He praised the efforts of the authorities, including the governor, the wali, security forces, medical teams, and the press, emphasizing that everyone is working in cooperation with King Mohammed VI to serve the citizens.
He noted that the available water is clean and safe for drinking, and that the village enjoys diverse agricultural produce such as vegetables and grains. Thanks to these resources, residents live under good conditions.
The residents affirmed their continued cooperation with the authorities to preserve these resources, expressing gratitude to all parties that helped resolve the issue, especially after a period of shortage that caused significant suffering.
It is worth mentioning that Ain Chqaf village is known for the quality of its water and the fertility of its lands, making it one of the important agricultural areas in Fez. The residents hope for continued improvements in water services to ensure stability in daily and agricultural life.
